HOG WARS
Want to test your strength, agility and speed against linemen from all over the area?
Take part in the Marceline Stadium Club Hog Wars Linemen Challenge.
This event will provide you a chance to check your off-season progress against your competitors while having a lot of fun.
Scoring will be based on a point system. Individuals will receive points based on their speed, strength or precision. Individual and team results will be sent back to your head coach.
What are the challenges?
Squat Reps
Each participant will squat 225 lbs. as many times as they can. They will choose their own spotter.
Bench Reps
Each participant will bench press 185 lbs. as many times as they can. They will choose their own spotter.
Obstacle Course
Each participant will run a routed obstacle course. Scoring will be based on the quickest time.
Weight Throw
Measured distance of throwing a weighted implement.
5-Man Sled Drive
Timed team competition of 25 yards.
1-Man Sled Drive
Timed competition of an individual on a 10-yard drive.
Pursuit Drill
Each participant will run the Nebraska pursuit drill. The run is based on change of direction and speed.
Pro-Agility Drill
Agility test combining 5 yds, 10 yds, 5 yds, focusing on change of direction.
20-Yard Dash
Timed running of 20 yards.
Long Snap Accuracy
30-second timed drill in which one must long snap as many footballs as he can through a tractor tire. Teammates must ensure ball return.
What should I bring?
Each competitor should bring football shoes, tennis shoes, a towel and something to drink. A concession stand will be available.
Who is Eligible?
Football players entering 8-12 grades.
Injuries
This is a non-contact challenge. Your safety is our first concern. EMTs will be on-site to offer basic first aid.
What is the schedule?
The first challenges will begin at 9:00am. Teams will rotate to the next station based on availability.
The bench and squat will be outdoors as well on the Game Field.
Entries
Entries will be taken individually or by 5-man team. Only teams of five will be eligible for the Team Awards.
